Search a file on Ubuntu

On ubuntu 11.04 and later

  1. Click on the Ubuntu menu in the top left corner.
  2. Type what you are searching for.


OR for more search options

  1. Click on the Ubuntu menu in the top left corner.
  2. Type the word search
  3. Click on Search for Files...
  4. Type what you are searching for.


On ubuntu 10.04, 10.10 : 

  1. Click on the Places / Search for Files.. menu.
  2. Type what you are searching for.
