Your wireless network passwords and some software passwords are stored in the keychain in Ubuntu. It is very easy to show these passwords at need.
Ubuntu 11.04 and later
- Click on the Ubuntu menu in the top left corner.
- Type the word password and click on Passwords and Encryption Keys.
- Click on Password : login, the list of stored passwords is shown.
- Double-click on the password you want to show.
- Click on Password.
- Check Show password.
Ubuntu 10.10
- Click on the System / Preferences / Passwords and Encryption Keys menu.
- Click on Password : login, the list of stored passwords is shown.
- Double-click on the password you want to show.
- Click on Password.
- Check Show password.
Ubuntu 10.04
- Click on the Applications / Accessories / Passwords and Encryption Keys menu.
- Click on Password : login, the list of stored passwords is shown.
- Double-click on the password you want to show.
- Click on Password.
- Check Show password.
