On Windows, you can install softwares downloaded from some web site or from a CD or a USB stick. All you need is the executable file (.exe) or windows installer file (.msi) that is supposed to install the software you want.
Take care however to make sure that the softwares you install can be trusted, otherwise they could contain virus (see
protect a PC from virus).

- Double-click on the exe or msi file, or on the CD to install.
- If you're asked for autorisation, click Run or Allow or Continue or else..
- Follow the installation steps (that generally only consist in answering a few questions and to click next until the end).
- Your software appears on the desktop, it is installed!
